Hi Sally. I’ve done it and you don’t need a tent if you book the most remote hostals in advance, especially if you plan to do it durng high season. Some public hostal do not allow to book in advance, but the private ones do.

Did you ever get a reply to your question? I’ve done the Primitivo 3 times and have never had a problem finding accommodation. I don’t think that you need a tent.

Hi there, I have completed the Frances and Camino Norte. I am planning the Primitivo for next year, has anyone done it already? Can you tell me whether it is worthwhile taking a tent on this one or did you find hostels easy to find even if you don’t stick to the traditional guidebook length days?

Hi everyone

Pur Camino finoshed yesterday, after 104 days thru pyrenees, camino del norte, camino primitivo then up to Fisterra.

To be honest, combining Pyrenees (GR10) and Camino was tiring, but also enabled us not to be challenged by the hilly Norte (well, apart from way too much asphalt!! Reason why we then switched to Primitivo)

Update after 850km and slightly more than 50 daus on the GR10:

Pyrénées are almost behind us and we could see the ocean from a pass today! We diverted from the GR10 today as we will now follow the GR8 and reach St Jean de Luz to start the coastal camino (Hendaye & Irun in 3 days).

We are pumped! But will take about 5 days break in Hendaye to rest…

That’s it, starting on Wednesday, for GR10 + Camino del norte! About 1800km and 70.000D+, and as usual not UL 🤣

18kg and 20kg with 2 weeks of dinners with us, counting 2kg of water each

Hi all,

After having walked the camino about 10 years ago, through the Via Podiensis and the Camino Frances, I’ll go back this summer!

Leaving in about 2 weeks from now, we’ll combine walking the Pyrenees on the GR10, then the camino del norte. Should take about 3.5 months, can’t wait to be back on the camino!

It’s coming up on four years since I hiked the Camino Frances and I can’t believe it’s been so long. I’ve been reminiscing on a specific stretch where we saw a poppy super bloom, and felt like we were in the Wizard of Oz! Has anyone else seen these in recent years?
