Hi Dan!

I can recommend the Stubaier Höhenweg in Austria! Its really beautiful and sometimes challenging. However if you’re traveling in October, I recommend to check availability in the huts (first 2 pictures).

Another amazing trail is the Malerweg in eastern Germany. 8 day trail in which you walk past landscapes that have been painted by German painters in the Romanticism (last 2 pictures).

Hope this might be in your interest and otherwise the alpes or pyrenees are always a good idea 😉
