I’ve just switched to the Lanshan Pro 1 and I’m really enjoying it, I think I bought it for about £140.

How light do you want it to be?
For lightweight low budget you could take a look at the Naturehike VIK, or the Cloud-Up, depending on where you want to take it.
For me personally, I always take a 2 person tent because I like to have my pack with me in the tent.

Ps. I think this topic would fit better in the GEAR group 😉

For a small budget it’s always better to look for a good used one in good condition. For a tent it is necessary t build up and check an used tent at least once.

Have heard great things about Lanshan 2 (non pro version oddly), seems affordable. I have the Vango 100 that is, barely big enough for me (6ft2in), but is compact and affordable.

I´ve been using the NatureHike Cloud 2P for 1,5 year now and it´s been a sturdy lightweight tent in all kinds of weather (even used it for my winter hike). It’s only about 149 euro’s at the moment.

I’ve also heard rumours of Decathlon releasing a small and light trekking pole tent, inspired by the UL tents. They call it a tent tarp (MT 900) at 920 grs and 150 euros or so. Maybe an option?

No personal experience with it though.

They already sell it. I have seen a few of those while backpacking the TMB.
The MT900 tent tarp. 1person (920gr) costs EUR 150, 2 person (1300gr) costs EUR 190 (In the Netherlands)

I have asked the TMB trekkers about their tent and I believe most think its quite okay. Just some remarks about condensation.

Sounds like a great deal at those prices! The more expensive single-wall tents will also have condensation anyway, so that’s not a drawback. Just the colour though…looks like they only have them in white. There goes stealth camping… 🙂
